Hey! This is my space where I write about my adventures in guitar, singing, and general music making.
Right now I'm taking guitar ateliers, and I learned a few cool sounds while we were learning the song Radioactive.
The basic chord loop in Radioactive looks like this:
Am / C / G / D
It's a chord progression that's found in a lot of pop/rock songs.
In fact, our teacher mentioned that it was also the same progression as in Get Lucky.
Then, he showed us a few new chords that jazzed up that progression a bit.
A7 / Cadd9 / G (with the B string) / Dadd9add11
So I decided to give it a shot.
The extra special chords look like this:
The new chords sound extra suited to an acoustic guitar, so I decided to make my first recording -- not of Radioactive, but of Get Lucky with these fancy new chords!
"Man, I need to find me more of these pretty chords!" I thought to myself.
I've been looking around; Kenneth Estrada's page has some good "dreamy" ones, where you keep the same fingering but move it up and down the fretboard.
Do you know any good resources for extra beautiful chords? Why do they sound that way?
Thanks for reading!
